For my tests, I printed from the microSD memory card, USB memory keys, the Canon PowerShot SX120 IS cameras, and computers running Windows Vista and is connected with a USB cable. Speed is almost the same in all cases, with our standard test image from the computer an average of 55 seconds each, at least one photograph of each print sources in 54 or 55 seconds, and no individual taking photos for longer than 62 seconds.
As a point of comparison, both the Epson PictureMate Show and Editors' Choice Epson PictureMate Charm $ 169.94 at Amazon slightly faster, averaging 41 seconds to print from the computer. Unless you print a lot of photos at once, however, the speed difference is not enough to be a problem.
Output quality is pretty much what you would expect from a thermal dye printer. Almost every photo that was easily as good as, and in many cases better than, anything that you would get with a typical drugstore prints. There is one exception, however. When printing from a computer-and only when printing from a computer thin diagonal lines, like the spokes of a bicycle wheel in some corner, out jagged.
The good news is that the problem only arises when printing from a computer, and only a small part of the picture. If you do not wish to print from a computer, it does not matter. Even if you plan to print from a computer, it was a minor problem at worst.
Canon Selphy CP900 - I would be much more enthusiastic about this printer if it includes Wi-Fi Direct. But considering the price, it would be worth considering without Wi-Fi at all.
Epson PictureMate Charm offers a rather fast speed and lower cost per photo, about 7 cents. However, the speed difference is not all that much, and you have to print more than 700 photos to make a difference in the initial price. All this makes the Canon
Selphy CP900 more sensible option, especially if you can take advantage of its small size and portability.
